Macrophages and lymphocytes - Macrophages are found throughout the body, including in connective tissue, and are one of the body's first line of defence cells. They protect our body from various pathogenic microorganisms, eliminate dead or cancerous cells and fight infections. In addition, they secrete substances that stimulate the work of the entire immune system.

In addition, the skin is home to millions of commensal bacteria - micro-organisms that live on the skin's surface and are crucial to its health and immunity. Commensal bacteria produce antimicrobial peptides that act as natural weapons against pathogens and boost the body's overall immunity.

Skin health - why is it so important?

Just as there is a saying that the eyes are the mirror of the soul, the skin reflects the health of the body. When changes appear on the skin and it loses its colour and elasticity, it may not only be a sign of inadequate care, but, above all, a symptom of diseases in our body and a general poor condition.
